ATTENTION WINDOWS VISTA USERS

Before attempting to upgrade to VT Trader 1.9.2 you must disable the “User Access Control” (UAC) feature for the active user account to ensure the proper completion of the upgrade. You can do this by following the breadcrumb trail below:

Start Menu -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Access Control on or off -> Press [Continue] button to proceed through the warning prompt -> Remove checkmark from "Use User Access Control (UAC) to help protect your computer” option -> Press [OK] -> Reboot PC

Once UAC has been disabled, you can proceed to upgrade VT Trader to version 1.9.2. You may re-enable the UAC feature in Windows Vista once VT Trader has been successfully upgraded. You’ll need to reboot your PC once more for this change to take effect.

New Features:
  • Chart Patterns Recognition functionality and a new Chart Patterns Window has been introduced; The general types of patterns identified by VT Trader currently include: Triangles, Channels, Rectangles, Wedges, Head-and-Shoulders, Double Tops & Bottoms, and Triple Tops & Bottoms. NOTE(S): Please refer to the VT Trader Help Manual>VT Trader Interface>Trading Windows>Chart Patterns Window section for important information pertaining to this feature *before* attempting to utilize it! It's also possible that your broker may not make this functionality immediately (or wholly) available to the entirety of their client base; they have the ability to enable/disable this feature and/or parts of its functionality at their discretion. PLEASE NOTE: At the moment, Chart Patterns Recognition is available only for Practice Accounts.

  • VT Trader will continuously attempt to reconnect after being disconnected without user intervention; In other words, if/when VT Trader gets disconnected the passive reconnection logic will initiate and if VT Trader cannot passively reconnect it attempts a full re-login (assuming the option, "Attempt Auto-Reconnection on Disconnection" remains enabled - by default it is); if the first full login attempt fails, VT Trader waits (counts down) until the time defined in the "Auto-Reconnection Timeout" option has passed and will then attempt login again using the same user/pass as was used prior to the disconnection event; this process repeats until either VT Trader successfully re-establishes a connection or the process is manually stopped (interrupted) by the user.

  • VT Trader now allows multiple simultaneous connections logged into the same account; In previous versions of VT Trader it was not possible to log into the same user account with more than one instance of VT Trader, VT Mobile, or VT API due to issues with reliable message delivery to all clients logged into the account; these message delivery issues have been resolved. It's now possible to have up to 20 simultaneous connections to the same user account from various client software instances. This new feature allows the user, for example, to have 1 VT Trader connection, 1 VT Mobile, and 1 VT API connection active and logged into the same user account at the same time.

  • Gross P/L column added to Account(s) Information Window; defined as - the floating profit or loss (expressed in the account's base currency as specified in the Curr column of the Account(s) Information Window) if any open positions exist on the respective account.

  • “Always On Top” option added the contextual menu of Chart Inspection Window; this option is enabled by default and allows the Chart Inspection Window to remain visible over top of any other VT Trader windows

Feature Improvements:

  • “Auto-Reconnection Timeout (minutes)” option in Navigator Window>Options Bookmark>Properties>General>General Properties>Communication Bookmark maximum value was changed from 60 minutes down to 10 minutes; this was necessary because any session not re-established within 10 minutes of disconnection is destroyed on the server-side with no hope of passive recovery

  • VT Trader now automatically detects and deletes extra “spaces” in front of or behind the username in the Login Window

  • On Bar OHLC Chart Type the minimum viewing size of the O/H/L/C lines is now 1 pixel; this allows the open and close “stubs” to be visible at the default horizontal zoom level

  • Dictionary loading procedures improved for localization; if no national text is used in respective localization, then English localization text is used, but if no English text is available, only then is default text used

  • VT Trader’s programming language and trading systems engine is now capable of drawing graphics (symbols) on “virtual bars”; For example: if the user has an MA cross system and the MA’s are displayed 5 bars into the future, the crossing of the MA’s can now be used as a “Graphic Enabled” condition and output variable and the chosen graphic (symbol) will display at the appropriate point on the chart at the MA cross over top of the “virtual (invisible, non-existent) bars”

  • PREV and PREV() functions have been modified; Note: PREV() is simply synonym for PREV; These functions have been modified to allow the return of NULL outputs so that their values will match those of ref(data array,-1); For example: a:= PREV;, a:= PREV();, and a:= ref(a,-1); are all equivalent functions and will now all return the same output value; Note: PREV(value) has not been modified since it was not necessary

  • Sum() and cum() functions modified; Instead of returning non-NULL data from first point (bar), they will now only begin returning non-NULL data when first non-NULL point (bar) based on data array “periods” parameter has passed; For example: previously SUM(MOV(1, 5, S), 5) returned (0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, ...) and now SUM(MOV(1, 5, S), 5) returns (NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, ...); Note: the internal process of calculations for sum() and cum() functions will continue to treat input NULL values as zeros – this has not been changed

  • Optimization of history-related containers

  • Error handling routines for connectivity-related events updated

  • Server version discovery algorithms have been improved

  • QOS (quality of service) error reporting has been improved
