Cross Hair Information

Once the Cross Hair is enabled it presents several pieces of information. First, there is a visual intersection of vertical-horizontal lines, which corresponds to your mouse's current position. On the vertical ruler, the Cross Hair's label shows the price, while in the horizontal ruler the date and time are displayed. Finally, the specific date/time/price point associated with the Cross Hair intersection also appears along the bottom of the window. All of these pieces of information have been highlighted in red for easier visual identification in the screen capture below.

Measuring Pips and Candles

The Cross Hair includes a built-in function called "Measuring". This function automatically counts the number of bars and the number of pips between two locations on a chart. The measuring label displays data in the format: # of bars / # of pips / price level of cursor.

To utilize this feature, click and hold down the left mouse button and drag your cursor to a different position on the chart. A new label will appear that updates in realtime the number of bars and the number of pips between the original location and the cursor's current location.

Changes to Scrolling
When the Cross Hair is activited it initially takes away the ability of a user to drag and scroll the chart window left and right, as these mouse movements are now used to control the "measuring" feature. To scroll normaly while still having Cross Hair active, one should double click the mouse and the cursor will change from a cross to an arrow/hand. Double clicking again will return the "measuring" feature.

Editing the Cross Hair's Properties
A user may want to change certain aspects of the Cross Hair, such as removing the horizontal and vertical lines, or changing label colors or fonts. These and other options can be found in Navigator Window>Options Bookmark (Tab)>Properties>General>Cross Hair.
