Chart Window

VT Trader allows users to monitor positions and trade directly off of one of the most sophisticated and customizable charting packages in the industry.

You can change the currency pair, time period, and chart type by clicking on the Quick Start Guide Figure 10Period Interval, and Quick Start Guide Figure 11 buttons located on the bottom of the chart respectively.

The current market rate is indicated by a brown horizontal line running through the chart, as well as its price highlighted in a brown box in the chart’s vertical price ruler, which runs along the right of the chart window. The vertical ruler along the bottom depicts time.

The day’s peak price is indicated by a blue horizontal line and is also represented by its price on the chart’s right-hand ruler highlighted in blue.

The day’s low price is indicated by a red horizontal line and is also represented by its price on the chart’s right-hand ruler highlighted in red.

VT Navigator Charting Toolbars

When a chart is open, the VT Navigator Window will display several additional charting tools on its right-hand panel.

The Drawing Toolbar allows one to easily place trendlines, Fibonacci scales, regression lines, and other drawing tools that can be drawn on the charts. See our Drawing Tools section to get more information on the drawing tools offered in VT Trader.

Two of the other toolbars - Interval and Chart Type - allow one to quickly change those aspects of a chart.

The Charting Toolbar helps a trader zoom the chart.

At the bottom of the chart, these toolbars are reproduced in one way or another, while also having additional icons that allow you to customize the chart to fit your trading needs.

Let’s go over the ones you will most likely be using the most while starting out:

Quick Start Guide Figure 10: This button allows you to change the currency pair of the selected chart.

Period Interval: This button allows you to change the time frame of the selected chart.

Quick Start Guide Figure 11 This button allows you to change the chart type of the selected chart.

Q: This button will display the chart’s currency pair’s price quotes directly on the chart.

Quick Start Guide Figure 14 : This button brings up the list of drawing tools a list of Fibonacci scales, regression lines, etc that you can add onto the chart.
