Account Information

The Account Information window shows, at a glance, the current state of your account(s).

Single Account

Below is a username whose Owner and Trader is "nickn". This username has just a single account, Acct ID "796434". There is a row of information for every account under a particular username, and a "Total" row.

Account Information Window Single

User with Multiple Accounts

In the screenshot below, a single Owner has five accounts under one username. They are each denoted with different Acct ID numbers.

  • The Owner has 2 out of the 5 accounts currently active. Trading activity that one conducts during the session will only affect those (two) accounts which have been checkmarked in the boxes to the lefthand side.

Account Information

Balance, Equity, Net P/L, and OP:

The Balance column is a fixed amount of funds in each account. The balance displays in the same currency as the Curr column to the far right.

Equity is the current state of each account. It reflects an account's balance plus or minus any changes due to open positions.

  •
    • Equity = Balance, when there are no open positions.
    • If there are open positions, then
      Equity = Balance + Net P/L.

Net P/L is a current total sum of profit or loss resulting from all existing open positions on the current account.

OP - Number of Open Lots; The number of open lots on a given account.

Used Margin, Usable Margin, and Premium:

UsdMrg, or used margin,  is the part of your trading funds which are used, or "held in margin", for each lot and/or mini-lot you have in open positions.

UsbMrg, or usable margin, is the amount of funds that you have available to initiate new open positions or to compensate for any losses on currently open positions. See our Margin Call policy.

Prm - Premium or interest; The funds that will be credited or debited to the account during "rollover interest" at the end of the trading session, 5 PM EST.  The direction of the transaction, whether one is on the buy side or the sell side will determine if the rollover interest is a positive or negative number. You can see current rollover interest rates in the Dealing Rates - Advanced tab Window.

Margin Call Status and Commissions:

MC - Margin Call Status - Letters "MC" in this column warn that the account is not active because of inadequate funds for conducting even one trade with the minimum number of allowable lots.

Comm - Commissions; Funds charged for each lot bought or sold if such commissions are specified in the broker's customer agreement. This will be zero while trading with CMS Forex.

Default Amount and Group:

DA - Default Amount; This is the default amount of lots that is set to display when requesting a market order or entry order. This is just the intial number that is shown, the actual trade size can be changed from the Market Order window.

The DA values are particularly useful when one conducts the majority of ones trading operations using the same lot sizes and active accounts. The Defalt Amount can be specified for each seperate account if the user chooses to do so.

Group - Makes it possible to combine different accounts into groups and in the course of trading operations refer to groups of accounts instead of separate accounts.
